The Bible states, "It is written: “‘As surely as I live,’ says the Lord, ‘every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.’” (Romans 14:11) God is aware of our differences - actually, he planned them. And he brings us unity when we gather together at the foot of the cross. There is no single nationality nor age group nor political group that has exclusive rights to worship - rather, we are One in Jesus Christ. So our congregation becomes ever more diverse, and we draw closer to Him through that diversity. We celebrate Him within our own cultures, but we share that love for Him - and from Him - every time two or more are gathered in His name. We have our various values regarding events in our society, but we share one faith in Him. My worship band at church is American, Brazilian and Hispanic; it is likely that we are all over the map politically; we are young and not so young. (One musician is all of 15 and I am...let's just say, older than that!) It is thrilling to praise His name in other languages; Jesus is Hope, and His promise is that one day, we will all be together with Him. So why wait? Let's honor Him now by coming together in His name (no matter our nationality, political beliefs or age) and singing His praise loudly and in every language we can, with our brothers and sisters in deep fellowship.
