The most powerful times of worship often happen early in the morning. 6:00 am seems like the moment my soul and God’s heart come together.
There is something warm and soothing in the sound of steel strings from a wooden guitar, particularly when gently played like in a dream. If I am careful, the house will go right on sleeping – it isn’t the right time for a concert, a service or a “worship experience.” But it is the time for an authentic moment of connection with the Lord. Just me, just Him.
He hears what I’m saying in my song and in my prayers. And I can listen for Him to “speak,” and speak He will, if I listen – what a concept. I spent too much time back in the day complaining that He wouldn’t speak, when really I wouldn’t listen. I’ve caught on since then. He wants my full attention - and yours. I hope you have experienced a little "just Him, just you" time this week. Sing Him your song.
So the morning it is. From these moments come prayers and songs and faith renewed. The night can be dark and filled with uncertainty – but all of that is put aside in the first light of day - as He makes his presence known in every bird chirping, in every leaf falling, and in every note played.
