Every Christian denomination has its own "spin" on theological matters. Some are major and some are minor spins - but that's why so many Christians seem "dizzy" to those outside the church.
The minor spins are usually based in undue adherence to a specific ritual or tradition, which can seem odd to someone for whom that ritual is unimportant. The major spins, however, may focus disproportionately on a particular aspect of the faith to the point of making that aspect the main thing one thinks of when one considers that denomination. That kind of spin is quite problematic, as it may contradict Gospel, and it can send congregants spinning in a direction clearly at odds with the teachings of Christ. (It's worth stating that any attempt to link the faith with a particular political party is spinning of the worst kind.)
So let's keep the main thing the main thing at church. The main thing is Jesus. If anything else has become the main thing, you're probably dizzy from all the spinning!
Accept Jesus as your main thing and you'll find yourself standing on the solid rock of mercy, grace and love.
